South Portland, ME, June 21st, 2016- Quick Plug North America, an industry veteran in the manufacture of stabilized growing media, announces the launch of our newest product, ZenPlugTM (patent pending), for easy transplanting of tissue culture starts and pre-rooted cuttings. The open plug shape allows for the precise and rapid placement of large callused plants, such as orchids and trees, in the center of the plug. The plug’s unique multi-surfaced interior holds roots firmly but gently in place and provides young plants with the optimal environment for root growth.

When transplanting tissue culture, protection of roots and callus is critical. Balancing the need for delicacy with speed and efficiency can be tricky and stressful. The ZenPlugTM, however, can be easily folded around fragile roots with a single hand motion. Access to multiple surfaces at the time of transplant allows for easy spreading of roots in the plug. This results in enhanced surface contact between the roots and the growing medium and improved growth of the plant as it is less likely to experience transplant shock.
